Calle de la Resistencia

The photo shows the corner of del Cristo and La Fortaleza Street. The latter is where the Governor’s Mansion is situated and is referred as «de la Resistencia» (Resistance). Most of the past week’s demonstrations started or ended there. Close to midnight last night, July 24th of 2019, I had the immense privilege to witness how the people of Puerto Rico celebrated after the resignation of Ricky Roselló as governor. What a historic moment! The people of Puerto Rico took their power back (some would say also their dignity) and told the politicians: “NO MORE!” If you steal, mock or lie, the people will push you out. This is true #democracy at its best! The government by the people. I don’t think I’ve ever been more prouder and honored to be from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 in My 4ever Changing Life.

La foto muestra la Calle del Cristo esquina de la Fortaleza. Esta última es donde reside el gobernador. Los manifestantes la han renombrado Calle de la Resistencia. La mayoría de las protestas de las pasadas semanas comenzaron o terminaron allí. Cerca de la media noche de ayer, 24 de julio de 2019, tuve el inmenso privilegio de presenciar como la gente en Puerto Rico celebraba la renuncia de Ricky Roselló como gobernador. ¡Esto ha sido un momento histórico para isla!La gente recuperó el poder( algunos opinan que también la dignidad) y dijo: «¡BASTA YA!» Si robas, mientes o te burlas, te vamos a botar. Esto es democracia en su máxima expresión. El gobierno por el pueblo y para el pueblo. No creo que haya estado más orgullosa y honrada por ser de Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 en Mi Por 100pre Cambiante Vida.
